Thanks to Big Brother & the Holding Company for the inspiration for the above title. Back in 1995, a 10-part miniseries entitled “The History of Rock n Roll” appeared on PBS, and one of the episodes was called “Blues in Technicolor”. According to IMDB, “’60s was coming to an end and major experimentation with drugs was invading the culture. Sex, drugs and rock n roll was the way of life then. San Francisco was the Mecca for the drug culture and San Francisco bands like the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane found its way into rock’s mainstream..” Big Brother & the Holding Company was shown in the documentary, and their music was described as “Blues in Technicolor”. Therefore, if Sam Andrew or Peter Albin are reading this blog, I wish them the best of luck and hereby give them credit for the title. Heck, I was going to call it “Tangerine Trees and Marmalade Skies”, but I think Beatles fans would set Yoko after me!
Anyway, I’m writing a new entry for the website’s STORIES section, and I’m editing it as we speak. Do stay tuned.
