An archeological miracle

In March, 2011, I contacted Dee Lippingwell on Facebook and asked if there was a possibility that any of her old Sparkling Apple photos still existed. Well, the answer was definitely positive! Dee had kept all of her photo negs from over 30 years of photo shoots (every rock band from AC/DC to ZZ Top and all points in between), and retrieving the Sparkling Apple shots was just a matter of a trip to her storage facility. After it was determined that she had indeed taken pictures of us at two shows — Gary Taylor’s Rock Room, August 1979 (shown above) and the PNE Gardens in January 1979 (shown below) — it was just a matter of Dee printing the negs and me scanning the prints for your enjoyment. The rest of the photos will soon be either displayed here on the Official Sparkling Apple blog or on the Sparkling Apple website. As of March 25, 2011, the website is experiencing some difficulties, as in ” there was an error communicating with the FTP server”, but these issues will be resolved (failure is not an option).
