Only two weeks to go!

Only two weeks to go, people! Word has it that tickets/wristbands are nearly sold out for the December 1st show at Donegal’s in Surrey, so get yours while there still some available. You can obtain tix by sending an email to captainmaniac@gmail.com, or by phoning Joe Staples @ 778-999-3069. Don’t miss this, because it’s the last Sparkling Apple appearance of 2012!

Just in case you missed our CD release party in July where we gave away free Sparkling Apple CDs with door admission, Hard Core Apple will most assuredly be on sale at Donegal’s for your pre-Christmas purchases (“a special pre-Christmas special”!). A cool stocking stuffer for those rockers on your list!

Spot the Pongo!

Yes we ARE featured on Spotify. Unfortunately, Spotify is not available in Canada yet, so I had to ask someone from the United Snakes of America (where Spotify IS available) to check it out for me. Thanks to Byron G in San Francisco (USA) for logging on to Spotify and obtaining this screen capture, which proves once and for all that Sparkling Apple music can be listened to online, on Spotify.

Rock on!

We present for your enjoyment an unreleased live audio clip from Sparkling Apple at Gary Taylor’s Rock Room in Vancouver BC.

Although the band was featured on the C-FOX “Monday Night At Eleven” series and was included on the first C-FOX Vancouver Seeds album, this particular recording is from a different date in the same venue. The single, “It’s Criminal” (included on Sparkling Apple’s new CD “Hard Core Apple”) was released on December 19th, 1979, and as luck would have it, we had a gig at Gary Taylor’s that night. We hired Challenger Sound Moible and filmed what was intended to be the official music video (now seen on YouTube) . The Soundcloud clip featured here is the audio-only portion of the video, remastered by Ray Roper in 2011.
